Hi, chat? Oops, not that way.
Hello, self. We are back to writing.
Not the best writer, but we will try again. Tired of me yet? I don’t blame you. Haha.
So, I am back. Not just on this blog, but on social media too.
A lot has happened, and as a little preview, I went home to my mom’s from July to August. Sort of. I spent around 15 days with the family, and honestly, it was one of those moments that made me appreciate everything a little more. I think that was one of the times I felt the most grateful this year.
Yza and I went home for different reasons. She was attending her cousin’s wedding, while I was attending my godchild’s first birthday. But somewhere in between all of that, something happened that we had both been hoping and praying for for a long time.
Our families finally met.
It sounds simple when I write it like that, but for us, it was a big thing.
Yza and I have talked about our families meeting so many times. We prayed for it too. We never really knew when it would happen, where it would happen, or how we would make it work. We just knew that when it did, we wanted it to happen naturally. No pressure. No forcing schedules just for the sake of finally saying, “Okay, they’ve met.”
And somehow, this trip gave us exactly that.
The timing was probably the best it could have been, and it happened the way we wanted it to happen.
Both of us were home. Our families were there. Everyone had their own reasons for being in Luzon, and somehow all those separate plans lined up and gave us this one moment we had been waiting for.
I remember just feeling really, really grateful.
Grateful that it finally happened. Grateful that both our families were there. Grateful that it didn’t feel awkward or forced. And probably most grateful that something we had prayed about for so long happened at a time when it felt right for everyone.
And it was a blast.
There are some moments you plan so much in your head that you start wondering if the real thing will ever live up to it. This one did.
Maybe even better.
I’ll leave the rest of that story for another time because I feel like it deserves its own space. Haha.
During my vacation, though, one of the things that made everything a little more tiring was losing my Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Being a developer, having websites you work on get hacked isn’t exactly unusual. But having your own accounts compromised? Different story.
I cried. Haha. I lost hope a couple of times too.
Eventually, I created another account, got it verified, paid for enhanced support, and somehow that made it possible for me to finally reach someone who could help me get my accounts back.
It took more than a month to retrieve them.
But I got them back.
Worth it, I guess?
The weird thing is, something kind of switched off in me after that.
I used to post a lot about my day-to-day life. Random photos. Random stories. Random things that probably didn’t matter to anyone else but me.
Now, I don’t really do that anymore.
After I got my accounts back, I went to another wedding. I even watched a concert. But I didn’t have much energy to pick up my phone and take photos or document everything the way I used to.
I know I may sound like someone who desperately needs to “touch some grass,” but I actually miss that part of myself.
Not because I need to post everything online.
I just really love looking back at the photos I took. The random moments. The things I probably would have forgotten if I hadn’t taken a photo of them.
I hope I get that spark back.
Anyway, I have a lot of stories to tell.
I’m not really sure yet how I’m going to organize all my thoughts and stories, but we’ll get there, self.
A little more push.
We’re writing again.
